Adjectives modifying nouns
Before a noun, an i-adjective stays as it is. A na-adjective needs な. After the noun, you often add です.
i-adjective + noun
Use the dictionary form. Do not insert な.
高い本
takai hon — an expensive book
新しい車です。
atarashii kuruma desu — It is a new car.
na-adjective + noun
Put な between the adjective and the noun. きれい and 有名 belong here, even though they end in an い sound.
静かな部屋
shizuka na heya — a quiet room
きれいな花です。
kirei na hana desu — It is a pretty flower.
Wrong: きれい花 or 高いな本.
