〜について (about / concerning)
について marks the topic you talk, write, or think about. It is more formal than は as a “about” marker.
日本の歴史について調べています。
I am researching Japanese history.
この件について、後で話しましょう。
Let’s talk about this matter later.
についての + noun: 環境についての本.
に関して is a stiffer written cousin. 対して is attitude/contrast, not “about a subject”.
