~すぎる / ~足りない (Too Much / Not Enough)

~すぎる (Too - exceeding what's appropriate):
  • この価格かかくは高すぎます。 - "This price is too high."
  • 彼の意見いけん急進的きゅうしんてきすぎる。 - "His opinion is too radical."
~足りない (Not enough / Insufficient):
  • 時間じかんが足りません。 - "We don't have enough time."
  • これはあなたの努力どりょくが足りないからです。 - "This is because your effort is insufficient."

~に値する / ~に値しない (Worthy Of / Unworthy)

Pattern: [Noun] + に値する/しない

Express worthiness or merit (formal/literary)

  • その努力どりょく報酬ほうしゅうに値します。 - "His effort deserves reward."
  • そんな行為こうい信頼しんらいに値しません。 - "Such behavior doesn't merit trust."

~ほど (To the Degree That / The More)

Pattern: [Comparative] + ほど

Describe proportional or comparative degree

  • 勉強べんきょうするほど、興味きょうみが湧きます。 - "The more I study, the more interested I become."
  • 知るほど、らないことがおおいとづく。 - "The more you know, the more you realize you don't know."
