~が、/ ~ため、(But / Because)

~が、(But) - Formal contrast:
  • 難しいが、挑戦ちょうせんします。 - "It's difficult, but I will challenge it."
~ため、(Because/In order to) - Formal reason:
  • 知識ちしきふかめるため、毎日まいにち勉強べんきょうします。 - "To deepen knowledge, I study daily."

~から、/ ~それで (So / Therefore)

~から、(Therefore/From that):
  • 仕事が終わったから、かえります。 - "The work is done, so I'm going home."
~それで (And so/By that means):
  • 雨が降りました。それで、試合しあい中止ちゅうしになりました。 - "It rained. And so, the game was cancelled."

~また (Also / Furthermore / However)

Multiple meanings depending on context:
  • 日本語にほんごができます。また、英語えいごもできます。 - "I can do Japanese. Also, I can do English."
  • 完璧かんぺきですが、また改善かいぜん余地よちがあります。 - "It's perfect, however there's still room for improvement."
